Santa Ana Winds and their aftermath

This weekend the Santa Ana Winds were roaring through southern california, bringing much distruction. This is what we saw from the backyard. There was a time when we couldn't even see blue sky.

Circleville Pumpkin Festival

One of the highlights of going to Circleville in October is to go to the Pumpkin Festival. It is held in Downtown Circle and people come from far and wide to see it. The day was beautiful and we had alot of fun. I saw the largest pumpkin weighing in at 1375 lbs. Then the largest pumpkin pie, which I was told is fed to the hogs after the show is over. i also had the priviledge to meet Marlane kennedy, the author of Me and the Pumpkin Queen, which is about the Circleville Pumpkin Show.

The largest pumpkin !

Are we having fun yet????? This doesn't look like a football game!

Life is Good

Happy Saturday !

Well it is suppose to rain today, and I am prepared. Candles, book, windows open, cool air rushing in. But no rain yet.

Have to share a website with you, http://www.journalstar.com/ search under news enter the name Cordray and you will find an article about the Coach! He was surprised when he went to Nebraska to have a reporter waiting for him. He had so much fun, and is always remembering a story to be told. Everyone was so gracious that he is ready to go back next fall.

Thursday, besides it being our #2 Grandson's 12th birthday, I worked from home and took my honey to his appointment with the general surgeon, who removed a mole and a cyst from his back. 4 stitches in each. Nice heh? He didn't fuss but couldn't keep his foot from twitching during the entire procedure!

Life is Good

Fall is in the air !!!

My favorite time of year, the leaves are turning colors, it's cold and crisp outstide (at least at night) and time for baking and cooking. Golidlocks has inspired me get out the boxes and start to show my stuff. Here are a few pics..... believe it or not I have 2 more boxes to go through. I thought I would get this posted yesterday, but instead had a lovely visit with our old next door neighbor. Precious times like that must be gathered as they come.

The love of my life is coming home today, just called from the Omaha airport, then on to Denver with a 2 hour lay over and finally home. Dinner tonight is already in the crockpot. Trader Joes Yellow curry sauce poured over boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Served over coucous with golden raisins and toasted almonds. Yummy !!

Happy Harvest Everyone !
Don't Judge Each day by the Harvest you reap,
But by the seeds you plant.

Da Ol Bear is off again, this time to the midwest. He landed safely in Omaha and took a van on into Lincoln Nebraska. Where he will be attending the Nebraska Cornhuskers play Virginia Tech on saturday. He just called and is having the time of his life. Miss him terribily but so glad his is now doing what he truly enjoys. He will be back sunday evening. Yeah !
